The purpose of this activity is to get students to start thinking about what values are important to them through a process of elimination. The Values Assessment uses a tournament bracket method, putting two values side by side and making the student choose one of the two. As they progress, each ‘winning’ value will be put up against the other ‘winning’ value. Eventually, the student will be left with their ‘Top Two’ values, which will give them a basic understanding of what their current core values are.
It’s important to explain to the students that this is only a fun way to demonstrate what they believe their top values to be; however, as you grow and change, your values will change with you.
