Architect Kylie Von Seggern Shapes Cities One Building at a Time
Kylie Von Seggern grinds in the fields of art and design to help create cityscapes.
For Kylie Von Seggern, being an architect is much more than drafting plans for buildings on paper or a computer screen. Communication and collaboration are critically important. “Architecture is such a vast field that you will never work by yourself," says Von Seggern, who works at Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture in Omaha, Nebraska.
In high school, Von Seggern took a lot of drafting and art classes and was one of usually just a few young women. However, that never held her back. She encourages all young people to try something new and take different classes. You will never know if you’re good at something if you don’t give it a try in the first place.
