Building Genuine Relationships Is the Core of Danny Evans' Life in Marketing

If you're "networking" cynically, you're doing it wrong.

As the vice president of marketing for the apparel brand Ethika, Danny Evans' professional life is built on productive relationships. The key to forging those connections, he says, is understanding them as two-way streets: What do people want? When is it time to talk? When is it time to listen? 

As for what kinds of people Evans wants to work with in the clothing world, he looks for colleagues who can teach him something. "If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room," Evans theorizes. Hear more from him in the video above.
