Jeremiah Samuel Styles Hair Both Famous and Ordinary

Running a Los Angeles salon is about more than just gel and clippers.

When Jeremiah Samuel reflects on his job as a hairstylist at Martinez-Samuel Salon, most of his thoughts relate to time management, good relationships with his clients and the opportunities he has had. Never for one for a nine-to-five job, Samuel travels to shoots and works with his clients anytime of day. The hair, he says, ends up being better when people are happy with and confident in their stylist.

Some of Samuel's clients have pretty famous faces and heads of hair, but his job isn't a breezy brush with fame. “Your salon is only as good as your worst hair stylist,” he says. Salons require a great deal of schedule management and dedciation. In the video above, Samuel shares how all of it comes together to make his ideal grind.
