Data Entry Specialist
Data drives all kinds of businesses, from large corporations to non-profit organizations and government agencies. Data entry specialists are contributors and organizers whose work is critical for businesses to be able to access data quickly and easily.
They input data into computers with speed, accuracy, and a sharp eye for detail. They organize and verify it, and may do basic data manipulation. Data entry specialists need fast typing abilities, strong computer skills, and experience working with databases and CRM software.
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required for a career as a data entry specialist, and a typing certification is recommended. They can find work in nearly any industry, and some data entry positions are increasingly allowing remote work. Jobs for this position are expected to decline over the next decade, but the need to replace workers should continue to provide openings.
