Email marketing specialists use mass email campaigns to promote products, educate customers, and encourage sales. They are analyzers, creators and competitors whose work is often integral to building brand awareness and customer loyalty for their companies. By communicating regularly with their customers, they encourage a stronger connection to their company – and hopefully, repeat business.
They are responsible for defining and driving email marketing strategy and building and managing automated email marketing programs. They also use statistical analysis to measure and optimize email marketing programs, and partner cross-functionally with the social media, content and creative teams to create assets and ensure brand alignment.
Employers tend to prefer candidates with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, or public relations. Jobs for all advertising, promotions, and marketing managers is projected to grow 6% by 2029, which is faster than the average for all occupations.
