The job of a financial advisor is near-exactly what the name describes. They work with families or individuals to develop goals, strategies and securities for a given financial situation. To name a couple areas, they can advise on potential investments and stock deals or help people plan for retirement. While many principles apply across the board, different financial advisors specialize in different income situations; for instance, some advisors work more with people trying to manage and expand their wealth. Those clients often have different ambitions than a middle-class family making plans for a college fund.
