Social and Human Service Assistant
Social and human service assistants are those that help people find aid and support in food, pay, housing, medical care, mental health, legal services, and other related fields. They meet with clients to identify areas of need and create treatment and action plans to achieve goals. They are connectors, humanitarians, and organizers that have a strong sense of empathy and compassion for others. They are driven to organize and find the best community resources available at the person’s level of eligibility.
Social and human service assistants can be found in various companies and industries. Most companies will require a high school diploma or GED before hiring candidates, but a bachelor’s degree in social work, human resources, or a similar field is recommended. Employment of social and human service assistants is projected to grow 13% by 2028.
