Varsity Esports Director
As the college esports scene grows, university programs need coaches and managers to run, organize and motivate their teams — just like basketball or softball coaches, but for competitive gamers. Of course, the managers of esports teams must have some expertise in the games in questions as well as in organizing competitions. They travel, educate and build productive, improvement-based relationships with their players. Esport Managers often work closely with brand, PR, and marketing to promote player and viewer engagement Strong knowledge on the eSports industry such as games and players is important for esport managers. It may also be beneficial to have a bachelor’s degree in communications, or business when entering the industry.
If there aren't any opportunities for you to get involved, create them. Start your own team, start your own club. Get out there!
