In 2012, Cousins Maine Lobster was just a single food truck. Five years later and after a notable feature on “Shark Tank,” Jim Tselikis and his cousin Sabin Lomac oversee 26 units across the country as well as a restaurant in West Hollywood.

There’s certainly an appreciation of New England delicacies in Tselikis’ backstory, but he’s by no means a classically trained chef or restauranteur. The Maine native has an undergrad degree in political science and later sold medical equipment in Boston.

My Advice

There’s no straight line to your dream job. You can argue college is a great way to round yourself but there are a million other ways to prepare.
