“Always be yourself!”
Tanner Beard is an actor, filmmaker, and business entrepreneur based in Los Angeles. A natural at hustling, he first got into film when he volunteered as a production assistant for a movie that was being filmed in his hometown Snyder, Texas. He offered to drive cast and crew to set locations just a short time after getting his driver’s license. Since these early beginnings, he has starred in films like Grand Champion and the series Valley Peaks. He has also produced works featuring A-listers like Natalie Portman and Christian Bale.
Tanner is the CEO of Silver Sail Entertainment, a production company that was created in 2008 as a response to an industry strike. Through Silver Sail, Tanner wanted to offer a space for the development of independent media and professionals who had trouble finding work in Hollywood. He is also the CEO of Tanner Beard Golf and appears on ABC’s Holey Moley. He is passionate about life but moves with a laser focus toward his goals.
He co-founded Mammoth Film Festival in 2018, a festival held in Mammoth Lakes, California that focuses on emerging media and visual storytelling. The festival aims to offer not just a place for films to be showcased, but an opportunity for a diverse range of artists and industry professionals to meet and connect over a variety of resources. Though he is quite accomplished, Tanner values teamwork. He works closely with trusted partners like Russell Cummings and Jonathan Meyers in order to achieve his vision. He often advises people in any part of their career journey that “Whatever line of work you’re in, you want to work with and surround yourself with the best people in that industry.”
“Surround yourself with people that you like and who are like-minded; You will find these people as you are coming up in your career”
