CCSPP SIRTAC Spring Convening Focuses on Community Connected Classrooms
SAN BERNARDINO — The Coalition for Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) Spring Convening, hosted by San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) as the Integrated Resource Technical Assistance Center (SIRTAC), gathered 140 attendees to delve into the theme of “Unlocking the Power of Partnerships” on April 19, 2024. The event focused on exploring the pivotal role of partnerships within Community Connected Classrooms, emphasizing the transformative potential of collaborative efforts between schools, families and communities.
“Community Connected Classrooms emphasize the essence of fostering collaboration and cooperation among all stakeholders in education,” said County Superintendent Ted Alejandre. “By forging partnerships, we not only enhance access to essential resources and services but also cultivate a nurturing environment where every student has the opportunity to flourish.”
As the convening explored each pillar of Community Schools, the spotlight fell on Community Connected Classrooms, highlighting the integral role partnerships play in shaping holistic educational experiences. Through collaborative efforts, attendees explored how partnerships serve as the cornerstone of addressing the multifaceted needs of students, empowering them to thrive and achieve their full potential.
The CCSPP SIRTAC convenings serve as a platform for in-depth discussions and reflections on the core values of Community Schools. The Spring Convening, held biannually, offers a unique opportunity to spotlight the individual pillars and discuss specific topics.
Looking ahead, the Fall 2024 convening promises to be an exciting collaboration with First 5 San Bernardino, underscoring the continuum of Community Schools from Cradle to Career. This upcoming event will examine how Community Schools serve as a crucial foundation in the educational journey, beginning from the earliest stages of a child’s development.
